"I'd be tankful if you went to prom with me!" A life lesson for us all. 📺The context Best friends Sherman Bynum and Sam Tetroof Camus High School in Washington State rented a tank to bring them and their dates to their prom.
The teens created a GoFundMe page to raise $1,000 for the rental.
They also found someone to dress as Darth Vader playing the "Star Wars" them on flaming bagpipes while riding a unicycle.
👉Go deeper Bynum came up with the idea as a way to honor his father, a history buff, who died recently.
“I knew that if I did this, whether he was right there in front of me or holding my hand from somewhere else, I knew that I would be honoring that spirit of adventure and doing good things,” Bynum said
While to many the stunt may appear to be a joke, Bynum said it's about living life to the fullest.
“Do whatever you want," Bynum said. "That’s what [life's] all about.”
💡Connect the dots Bynum provides two great lessons; one on judgment and another on living.
When I first saw this story I thought it was about some spoiled kids looking for attention; then I got curious and read the story and learned about his dad. Wow do I feel foolish.
Also, if you want to rent a tank, rent a tank. Who cares? If you aren't hurting others or yourself emotionally or physically then why not just do what you want to do?
📢My BIG Takeaway I need to remind myself that a) judgment can be very unhealthy and b) the clock only moves in one direction. Question: What do you want to do today...and what's holding you back?
🕖Bonus time Below is the clip that inspired this edition of The BIG Takeaway.
